"Every spring the Cuckoo flowers blanket the ground in our orchard with their pale violet flowers. The sight brings back childhood memories for me. I used to pick them for my mother and put them in a jar on the dining room table. 'Look mom, for you!' Orange tip butterflies are darting around the orchard. Their caterpillars are very fond of Cuckoo flowers and so that's where the eggs are deposited. On my daily walk through the orchard I find one half of an egg: a European robin has hatched! Even though I have made this same walk countless times before I have never found pinecones in the orchard... how strange. But as soon as I bend down to take a closer look I realize these are not pinecones at all; they are morel mushrooms!! Five large mushrooms! And even though I know how tasty they are, I think I will leave them alone."
